The Nicholas Naquan Heyward Jr. Memorial Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization formed in 1995 to create a more positive and self-esteem-reinforcing environment for youth in the community of Boerum Hill and adjacent areas in Kings County

  • by providing youth mentoring and other programs aimed at creating ties between youth and positive role models in the community,
  • by creating a scholarship fund to help exceptional community youth pay for high school and/or higher education,
  • by providing assistance and youth-targeted programs focusing on the prevention of crime and substance abuse and promoting respect and dignity in the relations between the police and the youth of the community,

    honoring the memory of Nicholas Naquan Heyward, Jr. by providing the aforementioned charitable programs for community youth and promoting closer ties between community youth and police.
